I would have Borla on mine already if it werent for the pipes coming out the sides, nasty lookin. I had Borla on my last truck, top notch installation, materials and sound. Until Borla comes out with the staright back version I guess I am staying OEM.....for now as I may look into TRD. My friend has one on his FJC and there is some drone at Higway speeds, which I didnt have with my borla.
If you want different style pipes just get a custom exhaust, it is almost as good, but for half the price. You can get custom piping from the cat back.The only difference is the pipes probably wont be mandral bent. I got my exhaust done for just over $300, and it is rock solid.

well i take it back, apparently , when getting the trd exhaust, some get a muffler with bosal on it, others get one that says borla.it seems to change for certain models & years. the bonsai is also considered slightly quieter. it doesnt mean much, but maybe people should ask about this when ordering, just in case they need a little less noise. thanks for the heads up cparise.

exhaust is here!
after all the confusion with the gibson exhaust from Autoanything.com i canceled the order and called trdsparks.com and ordered a borla dual exhaust. it came in 4 days to connecticut from south carolina and i will be installing tomorrow. i look forward to the results. i do like that custom straight back magnaflow exhaust however i really like the borla exhaust as well.

theres a guy on this forum that had it done, forgot who, but he got different tips , says he wanted it louder & wasnt difficult to do, no damage , just cut the tip off, & had an angle with short extension piece welded on it looked pretty good, similar to the custom setup that was suggested earlier. ill probably just leave it alone , its grown on me & really doesnt look bad.
