I'm a fan, just hoped for more from those two episodes. I've been on a beach in Mexico with my buddy puking my guts out with montezuma as well, I promise none of you wanted to see it. :repuke:

It's a free show, so I really shouldn't complain but 4 episodes in and this has been incredibly dull. Look, I own a 4Runner, my mom owns a Prius, we're a Toyota family, but even I have my limits on how much product placement is going on.
I really do think as each season has gotten more slick in production values the story content has gone down. I'll take that episode of them trying to get up like 30 switchbacks in WY over this season.
Clay tends to make the narration and journey into something super spiritual, which just ends up making it hammy as hell.
Again I enjoy the show, but this season has been weak.

Personally for what it is, it is fine. Sure we can say this, that, or the other, sure the narration can get a bit similar and predictable, the fact is he and a few other lucky folks are getting what appears to be a paid for trip to drive some sweet trucks somewhere interesting.
It's decent reality entertainment.
The spider kill yeah sure wtf, pointless, just being 'muricans I guess. Had one latched on to their face, that would have been good tv.
Well another thing "going out" is just getting more difficult (well more can be more tame too) literally each and every day. It is harder and harder to find places to go that aren't closed, gated, destroyed, hell outright dangerous and not from nature or the wild but other humans. The world is getting smaller and smaller, in 50 more years, it will be exponentially smaller than it is now, that is a sad thought. You wont get to see stuff like this at all.

Couldn't agree with you more. It has been really dull. My wife and I always look forward to watching it too ;-(

Not totally free given product placement and commercials leading in... But I digress.
I really liked this weeks episode though it wasn't about offroading, inspiring for me.

I just got through bing watching the series to date. Its not bad. I was involved with a low budget (~$40K budget) documentary production in Peru back in 2006. Coincidentally, I also wrecked a small bike in the middle of no where. That guy was very lucky. In my experience, these documentaries tend to be really fun to make, but really difficult to make entertaining. I think it was neat seeing all the gear up fit. I'll continue to watch and will watch the Alaska version next.
Full disclosure, I ordered a Warn winch, and Undercover mount, and a pair of MaxTrax after watching... Not looking forward to this month's cc bill...
