Good question - too new to hit this list.

I'm suprised the G-wagon with 3 locking differentials is not at least next to the tacama in ability.

The other thing is the explorer is list as awd which is fine because some previous models were but what about the 4x4 models with a low range which is and always was available in the explorers?

Does the low front end at the skid plate really still quallify as a high clearance Suv in the 4th generation 4runners?

By how they have it organized... I would put it right in the 3.0 group. I don't see it out wheeling a G-500. I assume the front skidplate of the new FJ is low like in the new 4runners. I am sure the locking rear differential a short wheel base will help but I think it's clearance would be it's limiting factor.

Do you guys think a 4runner with a 3inch lift could easily be put in the 3.5 group?

Where is Ground Clearance Measured?

Just exactly where is "ground clearance" measured? Do they use the same location on different models? Just wondered if the bottom of the transfer case is the place, or the lowest point on a skid plate, or somewhere else?

Manufacturers tend to use different points to measure ground clearance. Toyota is famous for fudging data.
