I just got back from test fitting some 17x9 Fuel Hostage wheels for my 2008 SE and I ended up holding off on the purchase. The tech over at 4wheelparts who installed them said they would rub the body mount under any flex. Additionally, he turned the wheels for me to show where the rubbing occurred on the fender liner and it was significant. Not only the liner needed trimming, but some of the fender itself. I'm no stranger to trimming the liner as I did quite a bit in my '04 4runner with the same tires and 17x8 Helo wheels.
I have the daystar 2.5 lift and the BFG 255/75/17 MT. I'll also be installing a 1.25" BL this Sunday. I'd like to hear from anyone with 17x9 wheels to gauge how much they trimmed and whether they had body mount rubbing. If the rubbing was minimal/tolerable I'm going back to get those wheels!!!
the wheels had the following stats:
backspace: 4.5
offset: -12mm
Thanks
Oh...I have to say...Damn, those wheels looked AMAZING with my setup.
