Experience with SportRack Roof Basket?

Touche'. Will I be able to use my ski racks with the rola? Also what about roof top bike racks. I have a lot to carry and don't want to have to remove the basket everytime I need to carry a new set of equipment.

I didn't even think of Rola for some reason!

What do they mount to?

I like the Rola over the Yakima because it is much larger and looks better on our 3rd Gens.

I currently have them attached to just my factory cross bars. Nothing special but I am more worried about the spacing of the bars with a Rola.

Heck, the LoadWarrior is only $20 more. I would feel much more comfortable getting the Yakima and knowing that the fit would be correct. The bike racks and ski rack are both Yakima as well.

Have you had any issues with load weights? I know those factory crossbars are pretty weak and hollow if not mistaken. Did you attempt to mount it directly into the factory rails at all? I think with it sitting lower and removing the crossbars would make it more secure.

Just a side note. I was at Big Lots and I came across a Bell storage bag and net for $5. The bag is not waterproof and about the same thickness as a car cover but for the price it's worth it. Work well for basic camping gear.

You can find the Yakima Load Warriors on CL all the time. I got the MEGA Warrior for my 4runner last year....those things are beasts but look great. I ended up getting rid of it b/c I never used it, but the build of those things are awesome. It attached to the factory rack and I never had any problems at all.

I check Craigslist daily but they don't last long in Colorado. Make a stock pile of them and come visit, bet you could make out pretty well :biggrin2:

Oh. I didn't realize your ski and bike mounts were Yakima. In your case I think it makes more sense to get the Yakima.
 
Definitely would go with Yakima if you've already got Yakima ski/bike racks! I've got a set of Yakima Powerhound SE ski racks for my Loadwarrior and 2 sets of Yakima Raptor Bike mounts which are currently on my rack right now. They fit perfect and I use them all the time without a problem! Mine's on my factory crossbars and I put stuff up there all the time, never had a single problem with it at all... great product!
