Actually, I hadn't pursued it any further. My insurance deductible was only $50, and seeing that the dealership stated that they will have to keep my car during the investigation, which the service writer was saying, can take as long as three months, I just went the insurance route. In addition to this, there was going to be no loaner provided as well. This for me was a classic case of "pick your battles." Going the insurance route was less of a headache.
