Ext Warranty

As a noob here I'm almost embarrassed to say I purcahsed the ext warranty when I picked up my 4Runner on Tuesday. I was sick of my old Jeeps nickle & diming me to death and I got them down to $1500 for comprehensive bumper to bumper warranty for 5 years & 60k miles (0 deductable) form date of warranty purchase. I admit, I got it in a moment of weakness....it's cancelable within 5 days or something. My old Taco was fine until I broke a TC tensioner at 88k miles and then the fun began so I was probably haunted by past ghosts but now I'm wondering if I should just call and cancel it. Whadda think??

Cancel it and buy it online from another toyota dealership...Price is WAY TOO HIGH,....Our last 4runner we were able to get a toyota platinum 7 year 100K bumper to bumper for under $1000

Wow! I thought you had to get it from Toyota only when purchasing a vehicle from Toyota?

You can buy the Toyota extended warranty any time before the basic 3 year/36000 mile warranty expires. You don't have to buy it when you buy the car, or even at the same dealership.

I didn't need mine. Just maintain the machine:hunter:

Cancel. I picked mine up for around $780 IIRC back in 2008. Any dealer can sell you one. However, at 95000 miles, just take care of it and you'll probably never need to worry. I have areas and rear air and just wanted a couple years peace of mind.

I am happy to have mine...it is not quite but almost paid for. I would definitely recommend buying it after you buy the car. I didn't know that but so far it has paid off. I am a bit disappointed I have had to use it though. So far the PS pump failed....replacement covered. PS pumps shouldn't fail at 47k....especially not in a 4R. Also had a power lock actuator die as well. Both covered...might have the cable sub assembly replaced on the moon roof as well (depending on the surgery I do this weekend)....

I hate to say it but the warranty has been helpful. I am a bit disappointed though...the quality and # of repairs isn't bad but compared to our 3rd gen just isn't the same.

I have the same question and I'm not trying to take over the tread just thought since its similar question it would be cool for the to ask. I just bought a 04 V8 t4r with fulltime 4wd at 86K miles. I got a 4yr 48K mile warrenty for $1750. I'm starting to have second thoughts and I still have two weeks to cancel. I had the truck looked over and its in good condition. Any advice? Thanks guys

depends on what you're going to do with the cash... if booze and strippers then keep it. if spending it on a nice weekend with your lady/fam.... then go cancel it. :)
