For those of you who have the Extended Life Tire warranty from Toyota, has anynoe used it? Do you have any say in the tires they put back on? Is it worth dealing with the dealership to rotate the tires as they recommend?

A dealer told me that in order to collect on the warranty you have to take the 4Runner to a dealer to gat the tires rotated...For a fee!!! If you miss on a rotation the warranty will not cover a loss. I was also told that you had to pay for the replacement tires and submit your receipts for a refund (up to $800).
It seems that Toyota wants to be in the tire business. However, prices are lower at Costco. Rotation, balance & road hazard are included too. Best of all, here in Dallas anyway, there is no wait to get the work done. Sam's Club has been real good about ordering any tire I want at a great price too. Both Sam's and Costco's warranties are national. No receipts to mail in.
No thank-you Toyota. I'll keep getting my tires and tire work done away from the dealership.
