Extended slides to move seats back? Help me find the post.

There was a post recently by someone who had found a custom shop that was going to make slides to move the drivers seat further back but now I can't find it.

Does anyone remember that post? They found someone that did custom vehicles for NBA players somewhere on the west coast and I wanted to follow-up and see if they were able to move their seat.

I've started to have knee problems on long trips from having to bend my right leg too much and need to find a solution. I had planned on this being a vehicle I keep forever, but I'm not sure that's still the plan unless I can figure this out.

Have you though about how your going to trade knee pain for back by doing this? You will have to stretch for the steering wheel. It will get old fast.

it wouldn't always be all the way back, but i have damaged cartilage in my right knee and if i keep it bent it gets stiff and swollen. if i can slide my seat back to straighten my knees on road trips it will mean not having to stop every hour to walk around.

you're absolutely right about the steering wheel not coming back far enough though, that has been the problem in every japanese vehicle i've driven even when they have enough leg room

Just an inch or two would be great. I already have the steering push into the dash, so I have some room to play with.

I feel the **** out of your pain buddy same problem (maybe not quite as bad with the swelling).

I feel like it should just be a case of finding the right size sliders. Is your seat power?

it's powered. it shouldn't be that hard to fab something up if i had to, but the reason i never messed with it is because i decided if i was going to make that effort i wanted to find a more comfortable seat to use and i haven't started that effort yet.

Interesting. Are you like 7' tall? I think the T4R is the only vehicle out of the 20 or so I have owned that I don't need the seat all the way back.
