Honestly it depends on the price and how many years/miles you get for it? Also very carefully review coverage. They may require periodic inspections or more. Depending on how many miles are on the truck you could get coverage from other places too.
It is 5 year 75,000 miles for $2600 spread over 24 months. I'll keep researching it's the best so far covers dealer parts as well not just aftermarket.

I read a Consumer Reports article on this once (don't have a link, sorry), and they basically said that unless you have a car from a manufacturer with a bunch of known issues, you end up losing money. They said it's best to just set that money aside, and only use it for repairs. Then if the repairs aren't needed, that money is your's. Most of those warranty companies have fairly high premiums, and then any time you use it, you pay a deductible. Financially, it doesn't end up saving you anything, but if you want it for peace of mind...

eace:$2600 gets you a lot of repairs.... if the big things on your 4Runner are working, then I would say skip it and set money aside.
I agree. At our dealership you can get a lot more coverage for that kind of money. At $2600 you might as well hold on to it. You either drive a ton of miles and burn it up right away or standard miles and the years end. Traditionally the termed service contracts are a money maker. We offer lifetime options on lots of vehicles which is a good deal. Find a great, reliable mechanic and have them do a thorough inspection. For $150 or so most guys will give you a good idea of what problems you may be buying into. Check the car fax too! Demand it!
Read the fine print. Many of these service contracts state that any modifications to the vehicle, including a lift will void the entire warranty. Most of these companies will look for any reason to deny a claim. They will send out a 3rd party inspector for major repairs . And the replacement parts might not always be new OEM parts, even if the work is done at the dealer.

I would only get it on a used BMW, Mercedes, Audi or some other high end luxury car.
I didn't get one on my 4runner or ISF. Both Toyota, both built like a tank. If you purchase a well maintained Toyota, I wouldn't worry about it. You can just put that money in a rainy day fund and i doubt you will need it.

These warranties are money makers, not worth your money! Put whatever you'd pay aside and pay any repairs from that. In the end you'll see what you saved and will be glad you never bought a warranty.
