Extended Warranty for LoJack?

I have LoJack installed on my Runner and just received a postcard offering me to extend my 'WARRANTY' on the LoJack for $99.

- Is it necessary to purchase the warranty for it?
- If I don't purchase the warranty, will it still function properly after it 'expires'?
- Do you think LoJack will refuse the claim if the car is not recovered within 24 hours but the device in the car is not under warranty?

If you read the card carefully, all the info is there. The device will perform exactly the same, as it should since you bought it for the lifetime that you own the vehicle. They will not refund your purchase price if not recovered within 24 hours though...that is what the extended warranty is for. I chose not to buy the extended warranty for mine.
