extended warranty

I just bought a used 2004 4runner. The original owner bought the 6year/100,000 mile warranty from the dealer. I'm having the warranty transfered to me.

Are there any "catches" to this warranty? Do I have to.... let the dealer service the 4runner every 5000 miles in order for the warranty to be honored....or anything like that? I do my own oil changes and maintainence !!

If you are buying from the original owner get all of his records that shows he serviced it based on Toyota's schle. If you are buying it from a Toyota dealer and getting it transfered by the dealer that will be servicing it then there should not be a problem. If you are going to service it yourself keep good records and follow the Toyota service schle.

I bought it from the original owner and it only had 3700 miles and hasnt had any service to it yet. I just changed the oil/filter and have kept the receipts.

no catches to the warranty, you now have a 6 year 100k bumper to bumper warranty, it's nothing but an extension of the regular warranty offered by Toyota.

just service it and keep your regular records:) toyota does not need to do anything to keep the warranty in check;):
