Has anyone ever added the lighted runningboards or just the endcaps to a 4runner that was not originally equipped with it? I want to add the endcaps with the lights to my OEM SR5 runningboards (which appears easy enough to do) just not sure if the wiring already exists or where I am to pick it off from.

If you want to buy a pair of lighted running boards I have a pair for sale. Dont know how much shipping will be. Anyways, theyre sliver and came off my limited

There was a thread here on adding them - do a search for "running board lights". I swapped mine out. No existing wiring there - just a rubber plug either side. I wired up to ring around key hole so they dim with other lights. A write up here mentioned adding like Honda side clearance LED lights - or any small water proof light to end caps. Yota does not sell just the lighted or even blank end caps. I sold my old running boards off - 1 at a time and covered what I paid for lighted ones. Shipping wasn't bad as the boards are light ($15 each) - just a pain to pack.
