Exterior Lighting

Has anyone had any luck mounting a daytime running lamp LED kit to 5gTR4's?
I am considering mounting the following HELLA lights in the front for DRLs (of course) but was also considering adding them to the rear for additional lighting tied to my reverse lights (will almost fit in the pop out molding area). My tint will be so dark that it will be tough to see without them.

My Hella Lights - Universal Daytime Running Light Kit
better look at them in use: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Hella-Style-LED-Daytime-Running-Lights-Driving-DRL-p/led_ddl_sku78.htm

Also, any word on Halo or Angel Eye kits for the 5gTR4?

I am curious about these as well! Where would you put them? Let me know if you find anything out.

I plan on putting them in the widest point possible in the "intake" area below the front bumper and for the back, in the molding area just below the top-flat surface of the bumper itself. I think, if you have a trail or sr5, the rear bumper you have varies slightly from mine. It's tough to tell since Toyota wasn't proud enough of the rear view to give us a picture other than the 360 degree version.
I will let you know if I hear something.

Huh?What kind of 4Runner do you have?SR5/Limited's have the same rear bumpers?TE's and 4cyl are different. The SR5's that don't have the rear camera have sensors in the plastic bumper cover, but they are the same covers. I saw on the inside of my Limited bumper cover where the punchouts were for the sensors.

why not just stay with the stock DRLs? I think the add-on LEDs are bad looking they dont flow with the body. If you wanted the LED DRLs you should have bought an Audi. Just my opinion.

I would like to see someone do a projector low (HID) and halogen reflector (High) in the stock housing. Of course I don't want all the other dinky lights that make it ricey looking. That is something i would be interested in

I haven't had the chance to see the SR5, my dealer wasn't high volume enough to have a selection when I bought my limited back in December. I am sure you are right though - but the rear location where I would consider putting the lights in would be where the sensors would go on an SR5.

I agree with your thoughts on the headlights for sure. As far as the DRLs go however, I would have to disagree just based on my personal preference. I don't really care for the orange look - you think I can put a different bulb in there to make it match the headlight color? As far as the Audi as an alternative - I definitely would have went with a Q7 3.0 TDI - their gas mileage is like 25 mpg highway and have a ton of torque, but getting the 4Runner saved me $17k and from looking like a douche - it was a no brainer and I love the 4Runner.

I took the orange bulbs out of mine and just put some clear ones in to match the headlights, easy to do. Now the DRLs light the day up like mini fogs almost. I will probably someday get a super white bulb in there once a project HID kit comes around.

Very nice! Where did you get the replacement bulbs? Do you remember the size or watts? I have not stuck my head in/up to look at the DRL, was it an easy swap via the backside?
