External roll cage and 22re?

Is it unreasonable to expect my 4runners 22re motor to handle the extra burdon of an external roll cage and still do highway speeds to get where I want to go and have fun? Sometimes it can be a few hours of driving, and I want my rig to still be functional for normal life as well.
I don"t think I know anyone with an external cage that doesn't have a big chevy 350 transplant.

TONS of people have cages and a 22re... A full cage will weight what 2-300Lbs? Thats just like having a "full size" adult in the rig.

Ha! Now thats funny.

A company called 4xinnovations makes a weld together interior kit thats pretty neat. I just got a set of their sliders. Good stuff.

Their website says the internal kit weighs 130lbs.
