Extra gas tank

I have a 87 T4R SR5 EFI. I recently acquired the truck and there is an extra gas tank installed above the spare tire. It is a very proffesional install, and I would think it was purchased as an option when it was new, but I cant find this particular feature as an option anywhere. It has defenatly contributed to the 'sag' but I will be intalling beefier rear springs this winter. Hopefully negating the 'sag'.

Does anyone else out there have an extra 13 gallon tank? I will post some pictures tomorrow.

i have a long range tank on mine too mines a '93 and it holds a total of 120 or so ltrs looks very much the same as mine cept mine still uses the standard filler cap

I have the same thing on my '86.

There were a couple of aftermarket tanks available, and there are a couple of conversions, the tank from older Econline vans for one. Judging by the filler location in the wheel well, it looks like a PO did a conversion.
