F/R Speaker Removal

Ladies & Gents~

Question of the day~

I received Infinity Kappa speakers for the front, rear and tweeters for my 2001 4Runner.

How does one go about removing the 6 3/4" (front), and 4" rear speakers from the black plastic brace within the door panel?

Keep in mind, I removed the door panels and the 4 or 5 phillips screws that mount it in, but the speakers themselves would not come loose.

We then removed the black plastic bracket that surrounds the speaker, and we noticed that the speaker is sealed/glued in to this piece. How does one go about removing the speaker itself to replace them with the Infinity Kappas?

Lastly, how does one removed the black plastic triangle tweeters? How are they tightened in?

THanks and Happy Holidays?

The speakers come out of the black brace by just cutting through the glue...

Use a razor or sharp knife, and then just pry the speaker out of the glue :D

I did it this morning...as far as tweeters, I'm not sure, just do a search

Great~

Thanks for the info.

Doese everyone encounter this issue when replaciing the speakers?

If so, I thought there would be more info onthe topic, but I couldn't find any.

I will take your word for it and thanks for the immediate response.
