f/s 1st Gen 4Runner Soft Tops

I am looking into the intrest for 1st gen 4runner soft tops. I have a soft top & am looking at making copies. Here are some pics:

Let me know what you think of the design & if you would be intrested in one.
The top uses the roll bar as the upper support & the frame bolts into the hard top bolt holes. The only mods to the body are the snaps poprivited to the tailgate. The back window rolls up & is secured for air flow.
My vynal top in the pics would cost $470 Cdn (408.90 US) & in Sunbrella would be $550 (478.50 US). That is top, frame, & taxes. You would have to pay S&H.
I am also looking into a bikini top & cargo area cover that would work with this frame (easy to switch from one to the other), or could be ordered seperatly (I'd just make smaller frames to work with these). Let me know your ideas on this as well. No prices on these yet.

I hate to be a prick, but that looks like crap and costs a crapload.

Each person sees things differently, no offense taken. I was looking for something different than the square back of the hard top. The slant back does keep the rear window very clear & clean.
As for the price, I have checked around & the Can Back tops were going for, what, $1200 before taxes. Can you even get them anymore?? Then there's the one that looks like a hearse & it's $800 before taxes and then the bikini top & the boot ( cover for the top when it's down) are $200 before taxes. Those are craploads. This top is a few dollars over $400 taxes included, 1/2 the price of the hearse top. A little more if you want Sunbrella. I think it's pretty economical.

Hey i think that if you made some type of rear support like over the rear window to make it look more rectangle looking like the kayline and canback tops youd get some better feedback. The material looks strong its just im not really feeling the fastback look. Goodluck :bigok:

I was looking for something a little different from the other tops, & was trying to make it as cheap as possible price wise. This top doesn't incorporate any upper frame except around the edges. It uses the rollbar as the upper support.
I may look into making one with a square back to sell if I could get enough intrest. I'd have to go back & redesign the entire back half.... OH great, there goes the brain off & running again. I'll post back with some ideas.
