Factory E locker will not engage

When I push the RR diff button on my dash it just continues to flash, and the diff will not lock up. I had it in to the dealership and they said that it was a faulty 4low switch. They said it would cost around 250$ to fix. I thought that maybe I could bypass the factory switches and wire it up the way some people do when they puchase the E locker and install it on a 4runner that did not come with it. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

I found a fix to this problem. I disabled the safety by bypassing the 4low switch. Now not only will the locker work but it will work in 4lo, 4hi and 2wd. I grounded the blue/red wire comming from the ECU and this did the trick. Other members have detailed write ups on this mod. I can't believe it works after all this time of going without a locker. 250$ back in my pocket.
