factory fog light bulb color

Just wanted to see what everyone's opinion was as far as bulb color was. I'm adding a 6K hid kit as I'm debating whether or not to match the fog lights or run a 3K in those.

What do you guys think?

I have the 3k ddm kit, love it! really difficult to work with the stock housing though I have no where to put the HID wires, so right now the whole housing is wrapped in a rubber glove until I can mod something.

What bulb size did you buy? How long have you had them? Thanks!
 
keep in mind you need to make sure the bulbs are short enough to fit inside the fog housings. h3c bulbs fit the oem 99+ fogs.
 
So does the ddm kit not work with the hella micro de? That's basically what I'm getting. I found an eBay listing that has the factory fog lights with the mounting brackets.
 
i can only speak from experience with my oem fogs. standard h3 hid bulbs did not fit as they were a tad too long.

I vote for 3k. In dense fog I've always appreciated the color difference so I could judge distance.

Sounds like you're going to use aftermarket, but anyone with OEM I'd also recommend wiring the fogs so they can turn on independently of the headlights. Just don't forget to turn then off our you'll get a dead battery!
 
Just to make sure I didn't miss something obvious on the DDM site:
1) they do not sell the H3c, correct?
2) they do not have a bulb that will fit?

I believe the DDM ones are H3.

Ok so the lights came in today. They're the hella micro de's. The bulbs say H3. So......I'm assuming I can just buy a DDM h3 hid kit, correct?
 
I'm curious about this too, I've heard the h3 needed some modifacation to fit. I've never heard of the H3c. i've seen that a standard h3 halogen bulb look like the mini one though

So no one knows if this kit from ddm fits or not? I mean it's only $30 so I guess I can just order it and see but I thought there was a member who used this kit. Just can't find it.
 
So I bought the ddm kit. The lights fit length wise, but just like that link obviously, you have to remove the shield for the bulb to seat correctly. I'm not sure if I need to cut the wires though. Does anyone know for sure?
 
sweet! ^^^ I've been researching this stuff myself all day. I haven't decided what to do about that yet. I saw VVME made an h3c kit for $40 but yeah, i'd like to see what you come up with.
 
yeah im not sure what im doing lol. I started another thread and hooked everything up but it doesn't quite all fit together.

Plus, that link shows how to separate the connectors........so not as easy as it looks. Cant get them apart. So i stopped because i wasn't sure if i even needed to do all that. I forgot i was looking at pictures of someone trying to fit them to a different vehicle :ybrick:
