Factory Installed 2000 Toyota 4runner Roof Rack

I removed my roof rack to repaint (was down to the metal in some places) and replaced it with no problem, but does anyone have input on whether I need to worry about leaks?

Several of the rail rack screws had what appeared to be a plastic tip at the end of the screw and the screw holes on the roof had what looked like a sealed rubber washer around the outside of the screw hole that were either missing or worn.

It re-installed with no problem but I am concerned about whether I am going to have a leaking problem. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I did the same thing about 6 months ago with no leaks whatsoever. I was thinking of putting some silicone around the hole before seating the rail. I live in south Florida and have had plenty of leak tests!

I had the same concern and used clear silicone caulk in all the screw holes right before reinstalling.
