2004 SR5. The stereo is the factory CD player. I've tried the ipod interface stuff and have had problems with varying degrees. In my quest to get the best possible audio it's been a little buggy so I just want to plug into the back of the unit and then to the headphone output of the ipod. Or in my case, Android phone (INcredible)

I have the JBL navi in my 2004 and there was no aux in that I could figure out. I just happened to be at my local Fryes and talked with the guy there and he set me up with the following:

It's a FM modulator that plugs in the back of the head unit where the antenna goes in. I had to buy an additional two sided mini jack cable and that is what I had them run out through the front of my dash in the little storage bin in the console. When I am not using it I store the cable in there. To use it you tune to a preset FM station and then flip the provided switch. It essentially cuts out your antenna and substitutes your ipod music stream right into the antenna at the preset FM frequency. When I want the regular reception I just flip the switch back. I had them mount the switch under the steering column in a little indentation on the footwell cover.
It is perfect? No, but I spent about 125 bucks installed. It took the guy 1 1/2 hours to do the work and the parts cost 60 bucks. The sound is good enough and there is absolutely no static. Pictures below.
