Changing the belts on my 91. Stripped the bottom bolt on the alternator.

Changed the thermostat. Leaking.

Thank you all, I am going to bed.

Ahhh, working on vehicles--it's so...infuriating/satisfying/annoying/fun/maddening/whatever else I can think of (LOL)! Here's a tip--keep an old block of wood around, so when THAT moment strikes again, take a nice heavy hammer and give it a few good whacks. Lot cheaper than mangled parts...

It got better. Tightening the thermostat housing, one of the bolts snapped in half!

All good now. New belts are very quiet. I'm almost scared to start the bearrings tomorrow.

My (bad) luck isn't so much in the individual pieces going goofy, but in whole problems that pop up out of nowhere. For instance, I can be wrestling with one particular problem, and as long as I'm fighting that, it may be the only one; BUT, as soon as I finally fix it, something totally unrelated goes bad, and I'm right back in the hole. It's enough to make a person paranoid sometimes (LOL)!
