Fair price to ask for front bumper?

Well, I'm looking to attempt to recover one of my garage spaces. Which means getting rid of a lot of crap. Figure I might be able to sell some of it. Just trying to get an idea of what would be a fair asking price for my bumper. Came off an '01 sport. No turn signals, but it does have the factory fogs, however I did cut the connections off of them. I think it's a slightly different silver from the limiteds.

I sold a fat lip bumper black and chrome for 225$ it was in about the same shape as yours, but I prob could have gotten more for it, I kinda started at 250$ and went down even though I told myself I wasnt gonna,

I sold a 97 color coded one for 125$ it was way more beat up than yours though
 
I just tried to GIVE away a Mitsubishi Evo 9 bumper at my yard sale and couldn't even get rid of it. I say put it up on Craigslist for 50 bux and see what happens. GL

garage sales are not where to sell bumpers... craigslist it for sure, but list it at least at 250 if not 300,

50$??? why dont you just give it away? people come looking for bumpers on craigslist after they get in accidents and when they find out that salvage yards prices are based on what insurance companies will pay. they can find a bumper cheaper on craiglist...

keep it firm at 250 for a few weeks, drop it to 200 after about 3 (if it lasts that long)
 
I'm in desperate need of a bumper, I have been looking in local salvage yards -found a few stock 96-98 models for up to $125, don't really want to even spend that. I have Evergreen Pearl paint, wonder how a silver bumper would look...
 
Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna post it for $250 and go from there.

edit - put it up at $300. We'll see what happens.

Forgot to add that this was after having it on Craigslist and Evolutionm.net for about 3 months, I ended up throwing it away. :biggrin2:
 
I put mine up for $100 and it was gone the next day. I'm thinking you could get $200 if you wait. Maybe even $250. If you aren't in a hurry to get rid of it, why not start high?

EDIT: but thats here in colorado where there are tons of 3rd gens, and lots of snow that causes fender benders. The market is probly not the same other places.
 
i was thinkin $100-$150 but i agree, start well above the amount youd like to pocket and see what happens. good luck:hatsoff:
 
I sold a black limited bumper identical to yours but with no damage, just some rock chips, for $50 bucks with the side flares and all.

that even took a long time

wow, cuz I shipped a 00 limited bumper, chrome with black, in great shape to socal and got 225$ for it.

I listed it here in Denver on craigslist and the guy emailed me and had me ship it down there for him, sold in two weeks or so

Its all about when people get in accidents. after one of the latest snow/ice storms I sold a 97 color coded one, once people start running into other people due to winter weather it doesnt take long.

I have it at $250. I'm in no rear rush, so we'll see what happens.
 
Wow the guy that bought mine should feel like he got it at a steal for $40. Then again I try to help out local forum members when I can and it gave me some gas money for something just sitting in my garage.

For sure. I've given away my running boards, roof rack, lugs and the center caps that came along with my wheels to fellow members. Just thought this time I'd try to actually get something out of it. Plus if I can get a decent price out of it without the fogs, I'm gonna give those to Big John.
