Fall Trails in North/Central Colorado?

I wanna do a trail this fall where I'll see some good fall colors. Alltrails only helps if you know what to look up in the first place so I was wondering if anyone knows of some good spots in Colorado to provide some fun driving and good aspen color?

I'm running a stock 4runner on 33s. Might get the lift on in time but I wouldn't count on it

Mammoth Gulch up toward Kingston Peak out of Rollinsville (left off the Moffat Tunnel road at Tolland) is good. The Peak-to-peak highway getting there can be fantastic, but watch for bikes and rubber-necking drivers.

Anything in the Guanella Pass area and the south side of Webster Pass.

Further north the Old Flowers road west of Masonville is mellow and has good aspen color.

Timing is important for aspen color. Some years it only lasts a few days, other years several weeks.

None of these trails are a problem for a stock 1st, 2nd or 3rd gen. Kingston Peak above timberline might test a stock 4th or 5th gen without a lift, but down in the trees it'll be fine. Webster pass is easy low down, but gets rougher as you get higher. Again, in the trees should be no problem.

There are some beautiful trails around Marble and Crested Butte - Crystal Mill and Devils Punchbowl are fun and scenic.

ugh! I would love to go to that mill but last I went, it was freaking far af drive. Took like, 5 hours from where I live! That would turn into a camping trip for sure

Boreas Pass between Breckenridge, and 285 is always nice. easy county rd.
Lots of that area around the Summit is good. Webster pass, a bit more challenging, but easy. Williams peak is a great drive. It's hunting season, so there will be lots of hunters in the area. Cottonwood pass out of Granby can be nice as well as fall River Rd through the park. And Willow creek pass (paved). As mentioned, its all about the timing. We have some Aspen starting to change in our yard now. Maybe Shrine pass and the Camp Hale area.

I used Glenwood Springs as a base camp and made several day trips out and around Aspen, Rifle, and Marble and then ended my days in the hot springs. No camping this time.
