Family Stickers

I have seen many minivans and SUVs with the stickers of the family on the back window. It usually shows Mom, Dad the dog and the kids in a slightly more than stick figure representation.

Is that popular where you are? It's all over my area of Florida and some in Atlanta.

Part of me thinks it's ok the other part comes through and says what an idiot. It seems like an invitation to bad people, stalkers etc. Am I just living scared unnecessarily? I don't have kids so it's hard for me to know...

I don't think it's that relevent to the freaks out there but then again anything can be.

I guess we'd know which car the Octomom drives by those stickers. :p

I agree with you on this. I don't think it would be a wise move to list all your family member names on these stickers. There may be some psycho/criminal out there who might try to extort money from you by pretending to say that they know your child/wife and might say that they've kidnapped them. Or they might go up to your child and say that they're a friend of your parents, Bob & Suzy, etc. and might try to persuade your son or daughter to go with them or pick them up after school. Call me paranoid, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Just thought that I should share this with everyone.

I think they are kind of cool.

I have been looking for one myself to rep me and the 2 teen boys and the pampered dog.

My sister lives in St Croix-a US Virgin Island. While that trend is down there(and the spinners) also-they favor the windshield banners with their alter-ego or "CB handle"

You only have to see so many "HOT MAMA" stickers coming at ya or "SUGAR BABE" before you start to park and wait and see who exits the drivers seat at the supermarket.

Talk about false advertising....


that's why mine should say "SUGAR DADDY"

and yes everyone has those windshield banners, some are so long and written in the cruzan dialect that you cant even read them.
I had a friend who put "White Playa" on his car... :/
oh and sugar (from sugar mamma or daddy) would be spelled shugah or something around those lines.

yep Pirate you are correct sir- I just did not know how to spell it to be read correctly

"Shugah Bab-e" I remember that one pretty well and how much the car lifted off the springs when she got out. If only the mind would let those kind of images go immediately instead of seared forever into my retinas.

Mine would be "FRYD RICE" since my ride is white and Japanese and my favorite food advertised all in one fell swoop.

Cruzan Confusion -ha I like that one. I love going down there and picking up my Bacardi for like $5 a bottle and Cruzan for like $3. Good times.
 
I thought those stickers were warning stickers so that no one would tailgate them or rearend them. Kinda like the "Baby on Board" window stuff.
 
I think anyone should think twice about your viewpoint as there are bad people out there.....

......course here in Alaska every person can carry a concealed weapon so that takes the crime rate down quite a bit. 2nd there are only 680,000 people in the entire State so that probably helps.

Here it's common for junior to have a weapon as well as dad and mom who both hunt. probably should put that on the sticker...........:biggrin2:

I have discussed a similar issue with my brother about whether to put my NRA sticker on my car or not. Yeah, it is cool to show your support. However, my brother argued, if you put the NRA sticker, then you are putting yourself at risk from two things:

1. The thief/robber knows that you likely have a weapon and thus will be prepared for your counterattack/defense. This is a similar argument against "open carry" (aka carrying your handgun where everyone can see it); and

2. The thief/robber knows that you probably have a weapon inside your car...and may just break in for that reason alone to get it. Guns are rising in price and thus, is a good enough reason to break into a car to steal it.

So, for me, i try to minimize any attractions on my body and in my cars. (Of course, this is why my G-wagen spends most of its time in the garage.)

Just my thoughts.

Seriously though- his points are valid as well, the more you advertise what you "are into", the more likely someone else will want to "get into" your vehicle.
