Fan control 94 4Runner

The fan lever on my control panel quit working. It can move back and forth with no effort, and does not hit any detents or make the fan change speeds. In fact, the fan does not come on at all anymore.

I am pretty sure the control cable that connects it either broke loose from the lever, or broke in general.

Any ideas? Is this a common problem? How hard to fix?

The speed control for the fan does not move a cable, it is a switch.
If the fan does not run at any speed it could be a fuse or the fan motor.
If it runs at high and/or some of the lower speeds it could be the fan resistor module.

So I pretty much have to replace the whole control panel, right?

i have an aftermarket fan stuck to my radiator and just have hard wired, just gotta pay attn to the temp at low speeds (offroad) and throw the switch
