I guess this is the only place I can talk about about my T4r. We bought it in July, from a dealer for $8000. 2005 2wd, v6 SR5, 132000 miles on the clock. interior is perfect, exterior is dent free and shiny except fenders are blistered. the vehicle would be nothing special to most people, but I really love it. love the way it drive, feels, handles and looks. it is tight, nimble and tough. I prefer driving it to anything I've ever had.
When we were shopping, we were specifically looking for an economical truck like vehicle that could tow a small travel trailer. We checked with a car dealer we have bought from in the past, but he didn't have anything. Then we found our t4r at a different dealer, and it's great.
this guy where we first looked called me the other day and said he had found the perfect toyota for us.
04 T4r, V8 4 wd in spectacular condition. He didn't know how much the owner was selling for, but said he would find out. garage kept, one owner.
conventional wisdom would say we should buy the v8 to tow even a small trailer. I don't really want to though. I like the mpg we get. my BIL towns a bigger trailer with his 8 cyl 4 runner and gets very low teens or single digit mpg.
ours tows perfectly fine on a 3000+-# trailer and we average 14 mpg. I like the idea of 2 wd, milage and maintenance, prefer timing chain and don't want to go through the headache of selling my nice 05 and buying another one.
So, I'd like to know if we are nuts to not snap up an 04 t4r v8 4wd.
