I had to trim the front mudflaps quite a bit (inboard side), the fender liner also needed to be trimmed. Turn your wheels to full lock in both directions to see where they rub and whack away! I also had Revteck spacers...you will need these or a similar lift. I did not notice any extra water entering the engine compartment.

I did quite a bit of wheelin' with the 285s and they stuffed fairly well. They did not rub anymore after I trimmed the above mentioned areas and was very happy with the results. You could not tell where I trimmed from standing next to the truck...neat appearance is a plus on a 30000.00 plus vehicle.

Then again, I was planning on buying a new front bumper and putting sliders on it, so my point of view may be a little biased!

I hope this helps...the bigger tires were a huge benefit off-road. I went everywhere from fire/logging roads to rock crawling (yes, you WILL break/smash someting climbing over rocks--I can vouch for that...but it is fun!)

I guess what I am trying to say is that it IS worth it...took about 20 minutes to get just the right set-up. Oh yeah, I used small bungy cords to hold back the fender liner since I had to trim where they were held in place by fasteners.

i think my boss has this dodge diesel 2500 ram. he drives it to work when there's a snow storm in NH/MA. i remember he said it's got < 200 hspwr but 500+ torq, 30+ gals of fuel - "would go anywhere" he puts it. i guess he's got a older ver of ur truck. normally, he drives a jeep liberty. the other day he'd a ride in my 05 runner and was very impressed.

I never took pictures of the trimming. Sorry, I think Good Times might have a picture or two...check his page.

Again, I trimmed the mudflaps inside the wheel wells quite a bit and trimmed the front fender liner, black plastic inside wheel well(not trying to insult your intelligence!), and tied remaining liner to frame with bungy cords(temp mod, but sold the runner before I completed the task).

My new Beast has a bit over 300 HP and 610 Ft Lbs of torque...only prob is engine weighs over 600 lbs!!! so it is one heavy puppy...GVW of 7400 lbs. Thats why it has 285s on it as well...for floatation and less air pressure (better ride--and yes I know its a truck!) 35 gal feul tank = 75 to 90 Dollars per fill up, depending on feul cost (really miss my Hulk at the pump).

I love my new ride, but really miss my 4Runner (pulled out the Rubicon in pic below during a snow storm 'wheelin in the mountains...and no I don't have pics, forgot the camera---which will never happen again!)

I think I am getting "my wife" a new 4Runner this Spring...this time I am thinking of a Limited V8 w/Nav...she has a Volvo S60 T5 now and has gotten used to certain "creature comforts" and speed...driving on the autobahn when we were stationed in Germany!

Anyway, we all come back to the runner sooner or later!

EDIT: I did find a pic that kinda shows what I eventually trimmed...this was taken prior to the lift/285s...I cut-off the "cups" for lack of better description under the front bumper(they were hollow--not sure why they are there) and the inside fender liner which you cant see in the pic. Also the flaps were cut almost all the way except where the red line is (x indicates removed area) Sorry, this is the best I can do.....anyone have any "work in progress" pics? Good Luck...it was worth it!
