Favorite body part

I admit it, pun intended.

Anyway, I was washing my T4R this weekend and admiring the truck's curves

I particularly like the tailgate and for some reason I like the rear door/rear fender. Something about the way the back edge of the rear window is recessed into the body.

Yes, I do need a hobby. Yes, I have been married a long time.

So what's your favorite part of your 4Runner?

LOL. Sounds a little strange.

Mine would have to be the sport hood...even though I don't have one. :bash:

+1 for the sport hood, not only does it look good, but 10+hp it adds is nice as well.:)

Get a life:)

Along these lines, I prefer the whole package. The way it looks and acts. But the item that iced the deal is the moving rear window.

It's a toss up between the Sport hood and the tubular running boards. Those sure look a lot better than those plank-style running boards that were on my 2nd and 3rd gens.

But all-be-told, I'm really a leg and bewb man... :p

I think it the tail end it just fallls apart. Compared to my 01, the side of the back end is up way high, the tail gate looks plain and too big. I think a spoiler might help. The front is a bit too large too. I like the side view, with the doors having large handles, the black trim by the windows and most of all the wheel moldings that match the color of the car.

Sure the sport hood, valor tip exhaust and tubular running boards are great, but not standard on most 4Runners, so why include them in the overall style. that is kind of like says the styling sucks unless you add something to it.

The whole truck looks great, but if I had to pick any attractive body parts (distinguishing the 4Runner from other midsize trucks), it would have to be:
(1) the 03-05 fenders, and
(2) the 06-09 headlights.

As for hobbies I would highly recommend:
- HO-scale electric slot-car racing or model trains
- furniture carpentry
- refurbishing 50's to 70' high-end audio components
- table hockey
:D

I'm not a fan of the 06-09 models, but I do love the fenders on my 03. They remind me of the fenders of my 85 4Runner. I think when they ditched the trapazoid shape and rounded them out in 06 it lost a lot of appeal to me. I also like the front bumper because it sits way up off the ground where it belongs unlike every other SUV these days.

I'm in disagreement with the guys who like the tubular running boards on the newer Sport models. They sit too low to the ground and get snagged on rocks! Mine (not tubular) came off the day after I got the vehicle :)

The spoiler. I wouldn't buy the truck until they agreed to split the cost w/me to put it on.

But I do like the overall package as a whole and my 04 fenders compared to 06+.
