This is to see about interest in my 2005 4runner v8 sport edition. 74K miles, new 285/70/17 nitto terra grapplers a/t, pro comp 17 wheels, jbl 10 speaker, sun roof, cornfed 3/2 lift, k & n air filter, very very very well maintained with no mechanical issues. Does have some minor scratches here and there from use but NO abuse. I'm considering selling for 1 reason... Getting a heavy wakeboard boat, I trust my runner will pull with ease but to put my mind at ease considering a diesel. I love this thing and would be sure sick to sell it but for what my plans are dunno if this vehicle is right. Shoot me some offers or even what you think its worth I'll not be offended, maybe even a friendly bump. Any questions let me know. Thanks

If the dry weight of that boat is 3,300 (say 4,000ish with fuel & gear?) plus the trailer I think you'd be fine with the 4runner. I occasionally tow a Parker 2520 (5,300 lbs dry) plus heavy 225 hp outboard plus I'm guessing 1,500 lb trailer. Around town only that is. Mine seems to tow it fine (just alot of toungue weight as the boat's probablly too big for this trailer & is too far foreward). Just my $.02. Good luck makin' that decision.

It is sharp lookin' & would hate to give mine up!

thanks for all the boat input guys if all goes to plan i'm getting a Axis A22 boat weighs 3600lb dry plus trailer. Next question is what's my runner really worth???

IMHO

Private party $16,000.
Dealer Trade-in $12,000.

Upgrades or not, that's what you'd be looking to get on the open market, at least here in SoCal.

Good luck!

Do you have spidertrax spacers on there? Just curious?

And if you can find someone looking for lift 4Runner with upgrades, that's when you can get more for it. If there is a buyer that wants exactly what you have.

No wheel spacers cover up the sides when the roads wet the way it is now. thanks

Very nice rig! If you're thinking about getting a wakeboard boat I highly suggest the Malibu Wakesetters. 2009 Malibu Wakesetter VTX - Ebony/Charcoal/White | GetTommys.Com - Denver, CO <-- I used to work for this company and they have wonderful customer service! :bigok:

I've been wakeboarding for about 10 years now and this is by far the best boat I've ridden behind. Good luck!

I second the vote for a Wakesetter...but I'm biased. Having formerly owned a Sunsetter LX and recently purchased a 23LSV, these boats are VERY well-made!

Although, getting an Axis is almost like getting a Malibu.

As for towing, I tow the 23 behind my V8 4Runner without issues, except for the 11 mpg when towing...lol The most critical part will be ensuring you have a properly set-up trailer.

GL with the sale! and Congrats on the new boat when you get it!

gosh.. I would love to buy it... But my main thing is I was recently laid off and so even with a 716 credit score.. I can't get a loan with no income! I had to sell my 08 Urban Runner I just bought too. I've been trying to find a way around it but the job isn't coming and the bank isn't loaning. Maybe when things pick up, I'll look for you. This is exactly what I wanted to replace my urban runner with too! Just a slightly older V8 black sport. So bummed!

I have same SUV

I tow a 5,000 pound travel trailer with mine. You will have NO PROBLEM towing that boat. One thing you don't have with a boat that you have with a travel trailer - is the boat is more naturally shaped to be towed due to the way the bow is shaped.

I would save my money and just change the transmission fluid and your ready to hit the road/water!:jump:

thanks for the input guys no more than i'll be pulling something i believe i'll just service my trans and keep the runner . thanks for all the input and help.

Nice Rig

Just out of curiousity, what kind of fuel mileage do you get with you tire and lift set-up?

Thanks,

with removed hc filter k&n panel filter stock exhaust and my lift wheel/tire combo i get about 17 babying it and i drive mostly around town and short sprints. I believe after a gibson exhaust and a volant intake it should help get my mileage back up there. Hopefully help my power loss too get it back to the 19+ i got before. Thanks
