Feeler: HID projector for 03-05

I'm looking into manufacturing 2 sets of headlights for us without projector lights.


One set will be essentially the 2006 headlights (halogen projectors but without the gap and will fit perfect (no hole or have to change that plastic piece beneath the headlight)


Other set will be the same lights but with HID Projectors built into the headlight itself (that means no baking or cutting, it will be real HID projector).


Want to get a feel of interest on this as i can design these things and get a company to manufacture it (have no idea on prices yet) but is any one interested in these things or should i just make me some :-P

I've been on HIDplanet a lot lately contemplating an HID retro and would consider buying a pair of HID ready headlights but have a question (or two).

- What type of HID components would you use, something generic or TSX, FX, S2K, etc. components?

- How would ensure proper rotational alignment for the cutoff and what adjustments would be available for the headlight itself?

- I personally have been kicking around the idea of bi-xenon RS6 or FX projectors while still maintaining the standard halogen high beam (still not sure if this is possible). I do a lot of night driving in areas with no ambient light, I need as much light as possible. Is this something you would consider making?

- Would you provide a wiring harness which works with a D2S HID setup?

- Would you be truely "making" the headlights (casting them from molds, etc.) or would you be doing retro's yourself from stock headlights? The reason I ask is to get an idea as to the quality of the healights themselves.
 
I've got an 04' with modified stock headlights that include Audi A6 projectors and HIDs and I love it. Done properly it looks fantastic and provides a great deal of light at night.

I modified my 05 to have projectors (RX350) and HID's after not liking the p'n'p kit. The difference is completely amazing.

Any pics and who did them for you? I am still look'n for quality projectors myself, not the cheap ones on ebay.

So is the idea dead? Or is there still hope? :biggrin2:
 
I would be highly interested in this if it happens.

Of course, quality and cost are the factors most important to me. If it costs 1500 and looks like ass, count me out =) However, if you get something sweet going, let me know man, I'd seriously consider it.

Hope this isn't a dead idea, as I think a lot of people would jump on this, lot more lurkers out there that would probably second my opinion.
