Fender Flare Price Question

Hey all, got a question before I post this in classifieds

I've got an extra set of the 99 skinny flares that I picked up. The front left one is all I needed to replace mine that is slightly damaged. Bought them for JohnsD90 but he can't use them anymore due to personal reasons.

So, now I have a set of all 4 flares (with my first front left, a little iffy), the two door pieces, the rear flaps (I actually have 4 rear flaps), and all the original hardware.

So here's my question, at the demand rate of the flares, I am not sure what to sell my extras for. I hate to ask too little and I hate to ask too much (18k for a 97???)

They have typical weathering, but are otherwise fine. Should I eBay them instead of a flat price?

They go for a fortune on eBay. I had the chance to pick up an identical set a few weeks back for 60 bucks used, but the set was missing the front left, though.

You could definitely make a lot more on eBay, I'd imagine.

Yeah, I bet you're right, because the audience is so much larger.

Yeah I am torn at times between selling things to people on this site and getting the most out of things. It is nice to help people out on here, but I could get more from a local or ebay sale. I say go ebay and someone can get them from here.

Yeah, $50 is more than reasonable, but they should go for a lot higher than that. I'm gonna track your auction. If you get your asking price, I'm gonna sell mine too and get some Bushwackers to line up with my CBI, haha!

If your interested in Bushwackers. 3wks ago, after some digging around Amazon I purchased a Bushwacker kit 31913-11 on Amazon $345 shipped, which I found to be an amazing price. There are others selling on amazon today for $335 - $557, FYI, when asked Bushwacker confirmed all 31913-11 kits are the same.

I don't have to tell you, the SR5 flares are a sought after commodity you should do well.

Yeah, the BWs are expensive (even though the $350 or range is a good price). I want them but can't afford it right now. How hard were they to install 8sm? I want to color match them to the body like yours too.

good luck with your sale CofB. That is a fair price-and it seems quite decent that you asked around before posting it up.

With regards to the Bushwackers...I have them and was quite glad I paid a professional to install them. The front pair are easy of course. The rears are several pieces, there is a mounting plate for the (rear) passenger doors-then the outer flare to match the curve of the wheel well mounts over the plate.Then the flare for the rear quarter panel to mate up to the angle of the door. I could have easily screwed it up big time.

Rivets are used in some places and screws in others. There are also front and rear bumper extensions to continue the curve of the flare onto both bumpers-which I opted not to bother with.

No I do not believe the 31913-11 (Extend A Fender model) come with a piece for the running boards.

Good point Ron, I recall during the purchase, a pop up window appeared asking if I had running boards. I did not, but now wonder what would have happened had I answered " yes ". Hopefully, it was ask to include or exclude the running board pieces from the shipment.

Call Bushwacker if running boards are your application either way, $336 is a great deal.

I did not install them myself, my son and his cousin did. They have experience with painting, body and trim work, however no bushwacker experience. Both agreed the instructions were lousy but acceptable, so they measured and fitted what seem like 100x befor commiting to attach. Took them about 2 hours.

A great paint job deal at times comes with cutting corners. Make certain to include a flexing and harding additive, 3 coats paint and 4 clear coats in your bid.

The fronts just about installed themselves ha ha. The rears and doors required the most attention. There are trim pieces that mount to the stock front/back bumpers which we did not use.

Having watched the install, I would have attempted it myself if needed.

fyi: got my bushwacker 31913-11's today and figured this pic might help clear things up regarding them.

the top two right pieces, and the bottom two right pieces are both for the front bumper extension. Not sure if it was a difference in bumper styles, or preferences whether you wanted to use either or. And no extra pieces came with them for use with sideskirts.
