Feral Cat Sleeping on my Tire

...
Australia is purging ferrals for good reason. Not sure it's merited in the states tho.
...

Yeah, Australia in general has a huge human-induced non-native plant/animal/insect problem. Cats are just a small portion of it.
If you’re interested take a look at this list.
List of invasive species in Australia - Wikipedia

But this is nothing new. Been going on since humans began moving from one place to another. It will probably take many methods, many years, and lots of $ to make a dent in the population.

But as I grow older I learned animals aren't the problem. It's people that are the problem.

Church right there. Most invasive species on the planet is us.

I get what you where saying in your post tho. I'm no expert on animal control and tbh my neighborhood is full of feral cats.

However I find it sociopathic to kill a relatively harmless sentient creature because it's on your material things.

As for orange oil, depending on the formulation and how much you use, it might act like a solvent on your tires or rust-proofing coating.

I'm gonna spray it next to the tires on the concrete, and if that dont work, which it should, spray it on the inner fender liner rubber, shouldnt do harm. Not gonna spray my tires but right next to the tires and some areas around my house. I do like that they kill mice, thats the only benefit.

Oh no they are most certainly not. The plant I work at had a population of feral cats the went back generations (all the way back to WWII). Those MFs were as mean as the day is long. I'd rather try and tame a Bobcat than one of those nasty bastards.

Many a crazy cat lady got their asses tore up because they thought Mr. Patches was just a few cans of tuna away from becoming a lap toy. Wrong.

This. So freaking this.

That said when we were kids my sister had a thing about being able to walk up to feral animals and pick them up. Cats, dogs, rabbits, whatever.

Me personally if I have a feral cat I will leave it alone if its not messing with anything. If I think a cat may be in trouble over night during winter I will try and help as well. But otherwise they are completely out doors.
