Great forums!

The two dealers near me give me alot of different answers tot he same questions. So perhaps you all can shed some light and thank you for the time

all are relevant to models 2003-2006

1) what years did black leather come?
2) Can I buy the Trip computer/indassh map and have it installed if the vehicle I buy does not have one?
3) Can the sport hood be added to a regular hood
4) gas mil. diff between 4.7 and reg. V8?

Basically I'd like a limited with the sport scope on hood 7 passenger seating (since sport models dont offer them for no reason) autotrader has a zillion 4runners for sale so with low miles so I can save a ton of $$$ but only if I can add the above

thanks for your time

1. Someone correct me if I wrong but I dont think the 4runner ever came with black leather. There are some people that have black leather including myself but I'm pretty sure it is after market. There may have been a few runner that had the option but I don think it was very common. But I 'm pretty sure you can get after market leather from anywhere from like 800-1500. I would almost look for one without leather and get aftermarket installed that way you know its nice and new.
2. Don't know this one.
3. Dont really know what you meant by "added to to a regular hood" cause you can't just add the scoop. But you can replace your stock hood with a sport hood.
4. SEARCH... this topic has been talked to death

1. Black leather was never available with the Limiteds. Black leather may be a port installed option or installed after the fact. I'm only aware of the grey and tan leather being available.

2. Did you mean the Navigation system on the 4runners? Yes you can buy either aftermarket or the stock navigation system and have it added.

3. Sport Hood is a totally different hood than the regular hood. You'll have to buy a few pieces to have a complete SE hood.

4. Do you mean the Pre-VVTI V8 and the VVTI V8? I think the estimated mileage is only 1MPG better than the Pre-VVTI V8.

There are other parts involved, but they are all on the hood itself, correct? Fenders, bumper cover, headlights, are all still the same. I think you just need the hood, the scoop, the noise barrier, and the associated H/W... Anything else like the hood lifts and locking H/W can be removed from your existing hood. Remember that you will have to paint the hood to match your vehicle, so this will be an added expense (not to mention all the time you will spend picking bugs out of the scoop after it is installed)
