Nice. I always liked that LS2 when it was put into the sleeper Pontiac body.

Thanks bro. Yeah i really wanted a fast, loud 4 door family car (getting married on April 27th).

Cheap on maintenance, nicely built (has all the goodies in it). Researched the **** out of before getting it and for the price, cant beat the power.

Nice color! Pacific slate is the color I wanted but I settled for Panther Black, did you sign up over on grrrr8 or the g8board? Did someone swap the ls2 in there? The gt's come with an L76 which is a little different than the ls2 (400 hp vs 365 hp, square port vs cathedral port heads, displacement on demand, etc)

Nice catch. I think u are correct, GT comes with 361 hp and 385lbs of torque. I thought the gt came with the ls2 because the gxp I think comes with the ls3 in there.

Placing an order for a catback with hfc, intake and a custom tune to get it close to the 400 mark.

Sounds good, if you need any help or have any questions hit me up Ive been through a lot with mine: suspension, brakes, motor work, etc.

By virtue of essentially being a Holden Monaro (Australia), the G8 actually handles well (or so I am told). Sort of like a poor man's M5 (sorry OP, you are not poor, just a phrase). Looks like it has a nice diffuser and you picked a nice color. Debadge that and you have a cool car.

You will have some fun, try not to get too many tickets! :D

I actually do have a question. I was going to place an order for the Solo Mach Balanced exhaust with HFC, and Volant intake. I do plan to get headers down the line someday. What tune would u recommend? I'm going to try to find a local shop but may have to order one via mail that I can do myself if that doesn't work.

Lol I actually agree its like the blue collar guys M5. It actually handles well and it's been a blast to drive so far. Had a M3 before my truck and though it was precision engineering at its best, I just couldn't afford the yearly Maintenance on it. I wanted a car that I can maintain without having to sell my unborn child.

And yes will probably do some debadging this coming weekend :)

I personally would recommend the headers first as they give a huge bang for your buck, cat back really adds next to nothing until you get past 400 whp but a lot of people like the exhaust note. They have a sound clip thread on the g8board with the different exhaust combos, I would think down the road...if you get an exhaust that is loud now when you get headers its going to be deafening lol. Here is how mine sounds with stock mufflers and long tube headers/cam:

As for tune, depends how far you will go. For bolt ons the cortex isnt 'bad' but you will grow out of it once you get headers or anything beyond that. I started out with a vector motorsports tune when I only had a rotofab and it wasnt bad but a custom tune adds more hp, gets better mpgs and you can fine tune your shift points (g8 commands shift based on mph when you go wide open throttle so if you have non-stock sized tires they will effect your trans tune). If you plan on modding buy hptuners now and you can work with a remote tuner, if you dont plan on anything but intake and exhaust the cortex will work or have a local shop flash you.

Volant intake isnt bad, the most popular intakes for the g8 are the rotofab or afe or volant for regular cai style intakes or they have ram air ones. The ram airs are a little more finicky to tune but offer more power, vararam and vcm make nice over the radiator intakes (you'll see people reference otr intakes on the boards a lot).

Theres pro's and con's to all the setups I dont want to write anymore of a novel than I have lol unless you want me to (can pm me if you dont want to side track the thread) but me personally I would buy headers (pace setters on a budget, american race headers if you want to spend a little more), intake (I like afe and rotofab) and hptuners and either find a shop local that can flash you or use the hptuners and hook up with a remote tuner.

Not familiar with cali but theres a group of very knowledgeable g8 owners in the east bay area that might be more familiar with local shops.

Appreciate all the input bro. Yea I been on g8forum for a bit now just going through all the exhaust and set ups. I will decide on something today :)

Might bother u again for some help.
