I think band of brothers series did a great job at depicting the war itself but also focusing on some of the soldiers themselves
My dad was a WW2 vet but my mom n dad divorced when i was 6...so i never had a good enough relationship to talk to him about (i was a later comer)
However i have talked to 2 WW2 vets from our gun club that was in the battle of the bulge. One of them told me he should have been killed at least 3 times...the shells that came in n landed right beside him were duds.
He always told me...out of any movie....the band of brothers was closest to being real as far as he was concerned....
