Filter for inside air intake???

Is there a filter for the inside air intake on a 99 4 Runner? While setting in the truck with the air blowing the other day I noticed a large amount of dust coming out of the vent. And the dash and everything else gets coated with dust pretty fast, more so than other vehicles I have owned.

as far as i no i don't think ive ever seen or heard about a cabin filter you can take the fan motor apart and clean the blades

It is a good idea to remove the blower fan and clean it out.

lol im afraid to take mine apart i no its never been done and ive drove some nasty dusty roads

Yeah,I'm sure mine has never been done in the 11 years my truck has existed so I bet I have a monster dust/hair ball in there and when removed I bet it will change how my 4Runner heats and cools.

I'll take pics when I remove mine.

the 4Runner didn't come equipped with a cabin filter until the redesign in 2003

I could not find it in the manual, just some mention of it online. I will try to take the fan out and clean it out.
