Finally bought a 4Runner!

etc.

I can officially call myself a 4runner owner :)

1997 Limited w/ 204,000 miles. 4x4, A/T, E-Locker, power everything. The owner I bought it from, was pleasant to deal with. He actually put new front pads on it before he would sell it to me. However, like I said he only replaced the pads, so rotors will have need to be cut.

The only really problem that it has is the salvage title. The front pass. side frame rail near the headlight was pushed back about 3 inches, but the previous-previous owner fixed that. No weird wear on the tires.

To do list includes:
All new fluids
TB
Trans cooler
sell/remove all emblems
sell/remove running boards
color change the flares due to clear coat pelling on the rears.
tighten shifter.
plugs

And in time I would like to replace the following on the cheap:
Carpet
Arm pad
and if possible I would like better used leather seat skins.

I will post pics up when the sun comes around tomorrow :)

Where can I find common part numbers?

I'm trying to save some bucks and shop around.

O2s
Plugs
Timing Belt
Water Pump
Timing Belt Tensioner Bearing Lower
Timing Belt Idler Bearing
Timing Belt Tensioner Hydraulic
Thermostat
Thermostat O-Ring
Air Conditioning Belt
Alternator Belt
Power Steering Belt
Crankshaft Seal Front
2-Camshaft Seals
Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
Trans gasket
etc....

As I already know, most of this parts list is copy and pasted from an ebay seller. However, I started getting turned around with several similar part options to choose from when trying to compare. It should also be noted, without a couple seals and belts, I was $100 less than the ebay seller.

Talk to Dan at American Toyota in Albuquerque New Mexico. Say you got his name from the ih8temud website and tell him what you are looking for. He gives the best prices around and all the parts are OEM toyota. I ended up getting a water pump, timing belt and t-stat from him for $153 shipped anywhere in the US.
