Finally bought my new 4RUNNER !!!!!

Hi again...
Now finally i can join all of You as a proud owner of brand new Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition 4x4, V-6 with Power tilt/slide moonroof, Rear spoiler w/center high mounted stop lamp and carpet floor mats...... I traded 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I'm glad I did it. After owning GC for 4 years I was a little scared of buying another truck because of comfort everyday driving but after driving 4Runner for 3 days, I'm glad i bought it..The ride is great even on highway...I was also afraid of Sport Edition because I read somewhere that suspension is a little harder than other versions but it's not true... comparing it to my old Grand Cherokee ride is beautiful!!!!!!!..
I have few questions for You but first i have to go back and check all post on this forum and see maybe there are answers at least for some of my questions.. Anyway I'm glad to have my new 4runner and for those of You that are reading posts on this forum and looking to some suggestion if You should buy 4Runner ( like i did before I bought mine) GO FOR IT.... IT;s Worth it....
I'll try post some pics of my new ride in a few days...........

You defninitely made the right choice. I have heard many horror stories from people who drive Jeeps. Good luck with your new 4Runner!

It's titanium. I've read that most of the 4Runners are sold in this color but it is also the best for dirt so less car wash trips for me...hehe i hope.......
 
Nice color;): the silvers do seem common. it'll hide the dirt really well, and will hide surface scratches too.......but will clean up quite nice too!
 
Nice choice. I got rid of my 2000 JGC, and glad that I did. Those repair cost were getting pretty high. Welcome and post pics when you can...

In 4 years I spent few thousands of $ for repairs. The biggest one was last year and is was transmition (it had 80 000 miles). And i said That is it.. No more Jeep. And have You seen a new 2005 Grand Cherokee?..... :eek:

I love the sentence You have on your post "Friends don't let friends drive Jeeps". That's so true....
 
Congrats on Sports Edition. Corners beutifully, doesn't it? Some sports cars would kill for XREAS technology. For the amount of money, you bought the best and most capable SUV on market today. Wait for the winter, you'll love it even more.
 
The sport edition does ride a bit stiffer, but it's still a smooth ride regardless, and some people actually prefer stiffer to an extent (me being one of them).

What's even more impressive is that I believe the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a unibody SUV, meaning it has an inherent advantage to on-road comfort but a disadvantage with towing, off-road comfort, and frame durability after a lot of trail running. The 4Runner has the exact opposite in terms of advantages and disadvantages being body on frame, yet it still rides smoother. That says a lot for the 4Runner!

I've noticed Toyota equips some 4Runners with Michelin Cross Terrain SUV tires. These are beyond excellent all around tires. Very smooth and quiet, very well maintained balance, and they will last up to 80,000 miles with good care.

I think this helps their on-road manners quite a bit. Just make sure you spend the money replace them with the same tires when the time comes or you may understand part of why you liked your 4Runner's road manners so much.;)

I know this first-hand since I replaced the goodyears on my ex-truck (2000 silverado) with Michelins and it road twice as nice plus it even got much better wet weather traction and such!
