FINALLY drove behind an '06...

hehe...i had a friend step on the brakes for me. but i'm sure that doesn't do it justice...

i would like some LED turn signals too (the instantaneous on/off flashing would be cool). I wonder if there is a good LED bulb for that.

Ha, nice...I remember finally seeing a 4Runner with LED's too...it took a while, because I was first one in the area to have an 06...But when I saw another one for the first time, I was stoked. I had to follow it and watch the tail lamps...very very awesome.

...Previous to that however...when I wanted to check them out on my truck, I didn't have anyone around...I used hardcover book and put it between the brake pedal and the seat which was pushed up all the way...very very creative I might add. It took time to balance the book, but it was worth it.

...See'n an 06 at night it pretty awesome too...

one more thing...

how hard would it be to install some LED turn signals in the front and the back?....if you can find one that'll fit?...

Very easy to change to the turn signal bulbs both front and rear. Fronts are a little hard since you have to get under the truck to access them. Be careful with the LED bulbs though, some actually give off less light than the stockers.

1. Find ones that fit through the hole.

2. Most LED assemblies are direct replacements for OEM bulbs, so the connector should fit.

3. For turn signals, you must buy an LED assembly that has a resistor built in. Because LEDs draw so little current, the 4Runner's electrical system will think the 'bulb' is burned out, and make it blink fast. The resistor on the LED provides a load, fooling the electrical system into thinking there's a real incandescent bulb in place.

#1 is probably your limiting factor. To produce an equal brightness LED assembly, you need a lot of LEDs, which makes the assembly bigger than a bulb.
