Well, for the last two years I have been looking for a sport hood near by for a descent price. Finally found one!! Only $100. A few very small dings and scratches but nothing I can't fix once I get it all sanded down and primered. A guy a know at a local body shop said he would paint it for me for $75. Now, I just have to find time to work on it.

Cool dude, looks good.

Welcome to the scoop club :D

Good for you mac...I'll be awaiting the results. I am most interested in seeing how well the paint comes out...since I'm desert dune too. Congrats!:guitar2:

I'll post pictures sometime next week when it is done. Your 4runner is looking pretty sweet and you have a 99 Land cruiser...Nice!!

Damn I'm jealous!! That would look gr8 on my 97 and it's even the right color!!

Not trying to bust your balls or anything, but it isn't the same color...

Yours is evergreen pearl if its a 97, that hood is Imperial Jade Mica, 99+ only. The sport hoods only came on 99+ and Evergreen pearl was discontinued on 4Runners before 99 and replaced with Imperial Jade.

Thanks man! And now that the wheels are balanced properly it even rides nice! Of course, it's nothing without a scoop!

Nice!! It's pretty cool that they didn't offer that from the factory...cause now your truck is quite unique in a very OEM way.

It looks about a shade too light based on both pictures. But nice, nonetheless.

I would agree, although computer monitors tend to screw up the way automotive paint looks sometimes. For $75, I wouldn't expect perfection. That's less than good paint costs just for the paint itself.

How do you feel about the color and finish bgmac?

outstanding-I would do some highlighting inside the scoop just to make it stand out a bit more but that's just jealousy talking .... visually the look is as if the hood is shortened up somehow-maybe it's just the angle and lighting.

sweet find and good for you. Love it when a plan all comes together.

Those look like camera phone pictures, so that may be the reason for the color looking off

but also keep in mind that the hood paint is fresh and the rest of the truck is 10+ years old, clay bar that b!tch up and you'll be sittin' pretty!
