Well I finally pulled the trigger and Purchased a black 2000 4Runner Sport on Friday. 4wd with rear diff lock and 133k miles. So far its stock and probably keep it that way till i Finish with the preventative maintenance. First up is B&M transmission cooler and new timing belt and water pump. Never really worked on my own vehicles before but with the help from this site and its users I think iI should be able to do these two things on my own. It will be my daily driver so I want to make sure it lasts a long time. I will post pics (taken on cell phone) tomorrow after I get off work if some one can explain to me how. :guitar3:

Edit: never mind I figured it out

Thats my old ride in the back with the red bumper. 93 escort station wagon with 196k. Only paid $200 for it and getting that $ back when I sell it to a friend since his daughter just got her learners permit.

Welcome.

It looks nice. And a nice upgrade. I would think about removing the running boards.

When you have questions, fire away.

nice highlander :boink: thats what im looking for right now.

Good luck. This one was only an hour from where I live so I was quite lucky. I was also willing to travel to get one but don't know if you are. There is one in North Bergren New Jersey with 162k that I was going to look at if I didn't like this one.

Nice! I wish I had time to wait. I had to rush into one after an insurance total wreck. I was a little worried but got a decent deal and now that I have had it for 30K miles I don't regret the purchase at all!

Major upgrade from the Escort!
Actually, your new 99 Highlander is a major upgrade from most of the 3rd Gens on this forum!

By the way, if that "ugly, annoying" hood scoop gets annoying, I will trade my clean smooth hood!:naughty:

Dont listen to Hollis! you'll want the hood scoop later down the road! :becky: Love this model of the 4runner, especially to '00 year. :welcome:

If I were you, I wouldn't unless you hate your mustang. I'd keep the mustang and buy an old Toyota with solid front axle. Then you have DD and an off-roader.

mustang isnt DD material. gets worse mileage and has a small tank. and takes premium. and im to tall for it haha
sorry for the thread jack :focus:

BOOM!! Taken care of. I also had to re program the keyless entry but couldn't get it to take so there's another thing I need to do. Also put Rain X Latitude wipers on it. My big pet peeve is crappy wipers cause I love a clean winshield.

Sweet!
Also if you want good wipers go with Sil Blades (Sp). I have had mine for 2 years in Houston heat.
