Finally got my 4Runner - NAV question

I am so happy to see my 4Runner finally arrived! It came from the US and I am in Canada.. All looks ok but navigation system asks for maps DVD every time I push a button.. I am not sure what to do - I read few things about Navigation DVDs (that allow control of the NAV system while driving). This car is 2007 and I am not sure what version/etc of this DVD I should look for...
I would appreciate any help and if someone wants to sell this to me please send me PM..

Hm, I think on the 07 the Nav DVD is located behind the head unit, it slides down and you'll see the slot (*think being the key word*). On my 03 the DVD is in the rear fender. You'll need to get a new DVD it sounds like, best chance is going to the dealer (only place I know to get them, maybe try Partznet). My dealer quoted me $300 for the newest update, and I passed as I have a portable Garmin. You may consider going aftermarket. Take that $300 and put towards an aftermarket in dash GPS, then the cost of updates in another few years (update should be cheaper on the aftermarkets).
 
Talk to the old owner or dealer first to see if they have the disc somewhere then I would look on Ebay. The disc is located behind the face and you insert it just like you would a regular CD (except in the lower slot). I'm not sure the version but I'll have a look today for you.

Congrats on your purchase, I've been very happy with all 3 of my 4runners over the years.

Thanks! I have not yet got my hands on the car - maybe tomorrow I will have it in my garage..
I will check ebay but yes - would at least to need to know the version, etc..
Unfortunately, I don't think I would be able to find the previous owner.. Would carfax tell me that?
 
Mine is version 8.1...

A quick search on Ebay I found quite a few from earlier versions to the newer 9.1 version.
 
Sounds like the map DVD might be missing.

On my '06 nav, press the 'Menu' button, then upper right corner 'Map Disc' on the screen. Mine says Data:ver5.1

A friend of mine was saying he had version 5.8.1 somewhere so if he finds it I will try to use this one first. If no luck I guess I will go to ebay :)

hmm.. mine does not say anything.. i guess because i don't have the dvd inside... :(
