Finally got one.

So I posted on here awhile back saying I was looking for a 4runner. Well I got one yesterday. Had one blow out on the trailer on the way there but it was worth it.

It's an 88 sr5 with most options

Plans for it are:
4 or 5 inch sas
About a 35 in tire
Bobbed about 8 inches
Painted
Geared and locked axles
And I need to figure out the AC since the motor is newer and the po didn't install the AC components on the new motor.

Should be a fun ride to the river and to some local spots around here

Then I took the top of today.

I wish I had a sun roof. One of these days I'm going to find a sunroof in the junkyard and I'm going to cut the entire roof off and have a body shop stick it on my truck. :D

I wish I didn't have the sunroof. Sun beats down on ur dome in the summer... not good when its 112. Water collects in it after a rainstorm and when I make a left, it all empties down my back.

Sounds like nice plans for it. Diggin' the sunroof!

Ha yeah I didn't even know it had it until I got there.

Yeah just from riding in it today it got a little warm. I may have to put some dark tint on it.

It makes it feel a little more open-airy. That's why I like it. I'm currently making some half doors to make the feeling even better. Wearing hats helps the head heat!

I hope you do SAS it. It looks a like a prime candidate for one. Hell, better than my own.

you can get a sunroof shade insert this is off a first generation 4runner . I got pic off the internet , I dont have a sunroof on my 85

It's a 5 speed. The shifter moves around a lot and sometimes pops out of first so I just ordered a new seat and bushing

had that same problem a couple of times. broke the shift tower bushing in my 94 and could turn the shifter all sorts of ways. could never find reverse. easy quick fix. the 88 was also a stick. things are a beast. congrats on the find.

Thanks, yeah it's in pretty good shape.

It's got a couple dents and little spots of rust on the rear so I started sanding today and I'm going to prep it then paint it sometime in the next month or so.

Congrats on your purchase, that is a great looking runner.
Thanks.
