So is the black part gloss, semi-gloss or matte finish? can't really tell in the picture.

here is a night time shot with my LED license plate lights and the new tail lights. They are the 6-bulb kind.
I am a little dissapointed in the pass. side fit for the tail lights. But I think this was mentioned before. Overall, I am pleased with the look. I dont know how much the fit will bother me later. For now I am ok with it.

Looks great Kenn. I just got back to Orange County......and it's midnight.......and I unwrapped these bad boys.......and they do indeed look sweet. I'd say they are pretty damn matte finish. I'm with iFORCE in that I'd prefer more glossy to match our paint.....but I don't have them mounted yet. I'd be out there right now, but I have a FULL load of crap in my runner that needs to be unloaded first. I can't even open the liftgate without everything falling out. 
Kenn, iFORCE, and any other Black 4runners, did you ever consider the gunmetal or were you 100% going for the black tails?

They are from the Group Buy that is currently sticky in the accessories thread. They aren't from toyota of japan. They are aftermarket.... from taiwan......and were much more cost effective.horsey said:looks very nice.: Is that the JDM tailights from Japan? I was going with black 100%. Gun Metal would have been my second choice, but I like the all black look.

Black all the way.... I never considered the chrome or the gunmetal one as I really liked the black one already. If I was to get another pair for our silver t4r, i'd still pick up another pair of black.

You can tell the difference from a side profile of the lights. If you look and feel the lights from the side, the gap between the lights and the body is bigger on the pass. side than the driver side. I filed both holes bigger, but it still did not fit right.
