New Owner

First of all I would like to thank all the T4R 'ers out there for providing all the knowledge. I'm a long time toyota fan/owner and finally, I'm the proud owner of a 1999 4Runner Limited 4WD. 180K miles. Exterior is in excellent shape for 10 years. Inside is a little ratty (prior smoker smell...no offense...smoke 'em if you got 'em, driver's side leather ripped etc). Mechanically it seems very sound and fairly well taken care of. I know the first thing everyone want are pics...... I'll get them on here as soon as I can.. (I should have taken them before I parked it in the garage and started taking everything apart)

Used 4runner = 4500 bones
Misc upgrades = 1500
countless years of tool'n and wheel'n ...priceless

originally purchased to tow the jet ski since i gave my '99 taco prerunner v6 to my pops, but it all t4r's fault for the upgrades........

Here's what's cooking:
1. New timing belt (water pump, crank/cam seals, idler x 2, tensioner, thermostat and belt, engine/radiator coolant flush)

2. New valve cover gaskets

3. Flush tranny with new tranny filter

4. Fluid change in all diffs

5. Ceramic Pads with slotted/cross drilled front rotors. brake flush

---- pics to come soon

6. Electric radiator fan conversion (we'll see how this one turns out)

7. cheap - o intake from ebay (again ?? to see how it works)

8. Bilstein HD's

9. New headliner

10. New interior carpet (husky liners to come soon)

11. Wet okole front seat covers

12. New power antenna mast

13 lube driveline, change PCV valve and plugs.

I have it broken down the oil seals for the t-belt job. the interior is half apart......

I'm a internal medicine resident . so it's a slow work in progress.....when i have time

the wife is a little salty that I have a new woman in my life, but what can you do.

my only other bone is that not all the climate control buttons work and the back light is also out. how much is a new one........ 800$. the a/c switch and fan/temp control works which is good enough for me now

stay tuned.........

Welcome.

Sounds like you have everything pretty much figured out. That's quite a list.

The only thing I would get rid of is the cheap intake from Ebay. Either get the K&N, Volant, etc... or do the deckplate mod.

Also I thought I'd let you know that the Weathertech floor mats fit better than the Huskys.

I just got the cheapo intake in the mail yesterday, the filer seems to be of similar quality to the K&N. I have a extra filter from an old K&N filter that i might use (it fits). I was surprised by the quality of the kit....good hardware and instructions .....good enough for gov't work. we will see

How much was the kit?
