Finally removed running boards....

Well, when i first posted last July, some of you guys encouraged me to remove running boards. Honestly, that would have never crossed my mind on my own. Finally did it on Saturday. It's funny how easy it was. I swear the Runner now looks twice as cool as it did before. Not much in the way of extra funds for more changes, but I'm thinking clear corners and keyless entry are the next two things. Oh yeah, and I guess I have a pair of running boards that i need to get rid of. That should probably be a separate post in the classified section, right?

Did mine last night. I had been holding off since my two youngest kids use them to get in but it was time.

They'll adapt

Thats funny, my eight year old went for that step up into the truck yesterday that is now gone and it was pretty funny. She didn't know I had removed them and she was not happy, but I turned it into a fun game where I have her now looking for 4runners that have no running boards as we drive around the city. Theres so many 4runners here in SF, but you only occasionally see one with boards removed.

Same thing happened with the kids I babysat this summer. I had the running boards on all summer and took them off right at the end one weekend. One of the kids looked at my 4runner and asked if I had raised it or something to make it look more mean. He didn't realize it was the running boards. My girlfriend on the other hand...still hasn't noticed.

I think if you changed the color of the rig, or some interior parts with color your girl friend would notice.

funny how woman and men look at things. (differently for sure)

Be careful i just got t-boned in my 4-runner about 2 weeks ago. If i had of taken my running boards off like i was suppose to my legs wouldn't be the same right now. just a heads up my running board took a huge amount of damage, could of been serious injury. if I'm going mudding ill take the 10 minutes it takes to remove them, Cheers.
