Firestone Destinations AT

Ok I finally bought my Destination tires 2 weeks ago at the Bridgestone dealership on Election Day. The deal I got was buy 3 get 1 free, the price per tire was 135.99 each and the stock size P265/65R17. Total 520.25 with tax and balancing. So far I have to say I feel alot more confidant driving. The overall feel of the vehicle has changed from driving on the OEM H/T 840s. Last Saturday we had heavy rain storms on Long Island and I had full contact of the ground, unlike the previous tires which hydroplaned. I didnt check the mileage yet but will next week. I'm interested to see how well they perform in the snow and ice. Snapped pictures today for you guys to check out.

Good choice, and sounds like you got a very good deal. Thats about $200 less than what I paid last spring for mine. I have 15,000 miles on my tires and still love them, second best purchase ive made besides the 4r of course!! I assume you dont like the white lettering.

thanks for the link, before I bought them I did a search here and didnt see that. Seeing what racedirt1 did with his tires is giving me new confidence going into the winter season. My OEMs were down right scary. The picture inserted is worth a thousand words. Change it to jpg and put it into the reply?



The white lettering outside was open to much debate around the house. I personally like them facing out but it seems through the course of time they get nicked here and there and then they dont look so good.

If you go back and click on edit for your original post you'll see the message board program automatically places a [u*r*l]and[/u*r*l] around the link. For pics you must do as I outlined above. The [i*m*g] coding will override the program inserting the [u*r*l]

Before I got my Revos I considered them . No real reason I didnt get them besides time . I needed new tires and finally just gave the wife some cash and said get it done so she just went with what was on there .

Anyway I was BS'n with a guy I new at the bank and he just put them on his F150. We had a litte bit of snow (2")and A LOT of black ice underneath and he said they surprised him on how they handled on his truck . He loves them. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Here's a delayed question since I just tsaw this. Did you get blackwall or did you turn the OWL to the inside. I am looking hard at these tires but not sure if I like the OWL on a Thundercloud SR5.

Could you take a side profile picture of your rig so we can see the whole package? It would help me a lot in seeing them; i'm going back and forth between 5 tires and the Destinations seem to be the least photographed; thanks!

I have had the tires 3 months now and they have performed well. We haven't had much snow accumulation here on Long Island. Driving in the few inches of snow and ice the tires performed well. I'm running with 36 psi and took a 1mpg hit. I'm going to try an upload a profile picture.

Play with the pressure's a bit . May get your 1 mpg back or a little more.

My Revos are 70/17's and Im run at 40.

Nice tires! I picked up the same ones for my 97 two separate times. I chose them mostly because of price, the look was second pick. But I have to say at Tires Plus where I'm from gave me these exact same tires for around 460.00 mounted and balanced, with no special promotion. I will post the receipt if anyone cares. Nice tires though, they ride smooth for a long while.

Last week I called around and got some prices on Destination AT's but did not pull the trigger. Then we got 8" of snow here on Saturday and I still had my 4 year old Dunlops (43,000 mi). The Flops were never that great of a tire, but now they aren't very good in the rain and absolutely terrible in the snow. We probably won't get a snow like that for another 10 years but I'm getting the new tires installed tomorrow. Hopefully the traction control won't kick in on wet roads anymore. I'll let you know what I think after I have them a while.
