Firestone lifetime alignment with icon lift... 1 no so far

So I drove 100miles to let my suspension settle... I filled the truck up with gas and I adjusted my coil-overs with the spanner wrench... I think I might have gone to high up front though in order to level it out I had to really go to go farther down on the collars then I probably should have... Which is crazy cause I went with 1.5 springs in the back not even the 2in icon springs... But that's another thread all together...

Anyways so I figured lifetime alignment makes sense so when I change the tires to 285's down the road or when I add a second battery or a Gobi any serious adjustment in additional weight to the car it will be nice to not take the $90ish hit every time.... So went to the Firestone down the street from my house... I get there and the manager sees my remote res and starts yelling at me and the tech that was writing it up(in his defense I just don't think he was able to control the inflection in his voice) so I immediately was taken back by his tone... "This suspension is consider an exotic car and does not qualify for the lifetime suspension!" I said thanks for saying its exotic but it's just a little can of oil that is bolted off to the side of the wheel well.... "It is consider an exotic off road vehicle... This thing is like a toy and every time you take it off road and go over rocks it is going to knock it out of alignment (he must be a forum member cause he knows my plan!)and you are going to be back in here all the time and for what I have to pay for labor is not worth it! I can only do a one-time alignment!"

I said ok and left... My gf got in the truck and confirmed that I just got yelled at...

So I am now at a Firestone across town trying my lifetime alignment scam again...Wahahhahaah (evil laugh)

Second store worked like a charm... Although the manager said he can not guarantee that he can get it back into factory spec due to aftermarket parts... That didn't make me too happy but I explained that's why I have new Upper Control Arms so that they have additional adjustment to ensure that you can... He looked confused, but at least he didn't yell at me and acted like he appreciated my business... Even though I am thinking I should have taken it to a place that knows what light racing upper control arms are, So that they are not learning on my truck... Well see...

I have the same lifetime alignment as you. This is what you need to ensure your specs are where they need to be:

1) keep a copy of the LR UCA install sheet in your truck - directions for camber adjustments are in there

2) print a copy of the eccentric bolt locations Ducmonsta took when he installed Jangforhire's suspension

3) tell Firestone you want your eccentric bolts just like the pictures (fronts at 3 o'clock and rears at 9 o'clock, iirc) to have caster at the most positive position.

4) show Firestone the UCA install sheet and tell them to loosen the top nut to adjust camber to zero and to re-tighten the nut to the torque spec indicated

5) only go to the 2nd Firestone since the first location treated you poorly, and go after each time you go wheeling, hell, I do and they can't do anything about it!

I actually was in the bay explaining to the tech how to adjust the UCAs first then use the lower adjustments to get everything in spec. Had my alignment done 4 times and have not got any slack from anyone.

I, too, have the Firestone Lifetime alignment. I just installed the UCA'S in the "D" position with the camber nut all the way out as recommended by several members here. Then, I took it to Firestone and told them to adjust the alignment to +4 degrees caster. They did not have any issues at all.

Mikey, that sucks and has to be super frustrating making several trips to get it done correctly... At number 4 though sounds like it might be time to take it to a 4x4 shop that knows what they are doing cause maybe there is something defective going on with the components...(Keep in mind I have no clue what I am talking about)

But seriously sounds like your Firestone has it's act together looks like I finally have an excuse for a road trip... Then after ill swing by Ducmonsta's shop and him take care of my long list of mods I have planned.

Oh no it was done right. It was just needed after adjusting the front and wheeling trips that knocked it out of alignment. I have been happy with the service.
